The International Journal of Applied Science and Technology Application (IJAPSET) encourages transparent and responsible disclosure of substantive artificial intelligence (AI) assistance in manuscript preparation, research analysis, programming, and other scholarly activities.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and final content of their manuscripts. AI tools cannot be listed as authors or replace human accountability.

Purpose and Scope

This page provides guidance and suggested declarations for authors who use AI-assisted tools in preparing manuscripts for IJAPSET. It supports transparent reporting and should be read together with the journal's AI Ethics & Procedure policy.

The disclosure must accurately reflect the actual use of AI. Authors should not claim that a tool was used when it was not used, or omit substantive assistance that should be disclosed under the journal's policy.

Standard AI Disclosure Statement

Authors may use the following template and replace the bracketed information with details that accurately describe their AI-assisted workflow.

The authors reviewed and verified the AI-assisted content, take full responsibility for the final manuscript, and confirm that the tool was not used to fabricate research data, results, or references.

Practical Examples

The following examples illustrate common types of AI assistance. Authors must select and adapt the statement that accurately reflects their actual use of AI.

EXAMPLE A

Language Editing and Grammar Correction

During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI) to assist with English language editing and grammar correction. The authors reviewed and revised the suggested changes and take full responsibility for the final content of the manuscript.

EXAMPLE B

Programming and Code Assistance

During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI) to assist with code explanation and debugging suggestions. The authors tested and verified the relevant code and analytical outputs and take full responsibility for the methods, results, and conclusions reported in this manuscript.

EXAMPLE C

Research Analysis Support

During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [name of AI tool] to assist with [specific analytical or research-support task]. The authors independently checked the outputs against the research data and methods, verified the reported findings, and take full responsibility for the final manuscript.

EXAMPLE D

No Generative AI Used

The authors did not use generative artificial intelligence tools to prepare the intellectual content of this manuscript.

Important: These examples are templates. Authors must ensure that their disclosure is truthful and consistent with their actual research and writing process. Example D should only be used when no generative AI was used to prepare the manuscript's intellectual content.

Where to Include the Statement

In the Manuscript

Include a section titled AI Disclosure Statement or Declaration of AI-Assisted Technologies where appropriate, commonly before the References section or within the manuscript's declarations section.

During Submission

Complete any AI-use declaration field provided by the journal, if applicable. Ensure that the information matches the statement included in the manuscript.

Author Compliance Checklist

Before submitting the manuscript, authors should confirm that they have:

  • Identified the AI tool actually used and its version where available.
  • Described the purpose and extent of AI assistance accurately.
  • Verified relevant AI-assisted text, references, data, code, and analytical outputs.
  • Ensured that no AI tool is listed as an author or co-author.
  • Disclosed substantive AI assistance where required by the journal.
  • Checked compliance with IJAPSET's AI Ethics & Procedure policy.
